On December 18, Zenless Zone Zero will release version 1.4 “A Storm of Falling Stars”. This update not only brings significant improvements to the game but also introduces the debut of the Void Hunter, Hoshimi Miyabi, alongside new game modes, scenarios, and features.

Advancement in the main plot
In Chapter 5, players will uncover the truth behind a conspiracy involving Vision Corporation, as the character Perlman awakens to reveal critical secrets about Wise and Belle. Additionally, the elections within the Ministry of Public Security in New Eridu will mark a turning point in the narrative, as proxies explore the uncharted region of Port Elpis, facing an imminent crisis.

Transformation of the gaming system
- The main storyline’s TV system is replaced with immersive combat stages, allowing players to explore the Hollows and engage in dynamic battles.
- New areas to explore: Port Elpis and Reverb Arena, featuring unique events and mechanics.
- Combat improvements: Agents will no longer share resources like dB, enabling consecutive ultimate techniques for a smoother gameplay experience.
New playable characters
- Hoshimi Miyabi, the youngest Void Hunter, showcases her unmatched strength with her Ethereal-Slaying Katana – Tailless. As a Frost Anomaly Agent, she can surround enemies with Icefire, causing Frost Anomaly and triggering special effects. With swift movements and precise slashes, she accumulates Fallen Frost to unleash a powerful forward attack, dealing devastating Frost damage before elegantly sheathing her blade.
- Asaba Harumasa, an Electric Agent, seamlessly switches between bow and blade, marks targets, and delivers unexpected strikes to enemies with active Electro Quivers. Proxies who reach Inter-Knot Lv. 8 can obtain Asaba Harumasa for free after Version 1.4 goes live.
Optimization of existing modes
- Redesign of combat stages from the prologue to Chapter 3.
- Inclusion of mechanics like the quick cleanup of Shiyu defense.
- New Shadows Lost mode, adding weekly challenges.
Launch on PS5 Pro
Visual improvements thanks to Ray Tracing technology, which will enhance the graphics on Sony’s new platform.
