The Wuthering Waves development team has revealed details about the upcoming version 1.4, titled When the Night Knocks, which will bring new combat mechanics, a weapon customization feature and various optimizations to enhance the player experience.
New Combat Mechanics
Dream Link
In version 1.4, the Dream Link mechanic will be introduced, designed to improve the synergy between Resonators, allowing them to unlock their full potential. This ability is activated when certain conditions are met in combat, significantly amplifying the power of the team. Dream Link is a core addition to the main event of the update and will be available as a permanent event after the main event concludes.
Overdrive Combat: Illusive Sprint
Another new feature is the Illusive Sprint, an ability that allows players to enter a high-speed state by collecting the blessings of the “white cat”. This mechanic will be available in the main event and will also become a permanent event. In addition, Lumi, a new Resonator, will be able to use Illusive Sprint to dodge attacks and move at high speed while attacking.
New Customization Feature: Weapon Projection
One of the most interesting features of this version is Weapon Projection, which allows you to customize the appearance of weapons without altering their stats. Players can obtain weapon projections, including a free projection of a 4-star sword when participating in the main event. In addition, transparent projections are included for all five weapon categories, which can make weapons partially or completely invisible, ideal for those looking to add a custom touch to their characters.
Game Experience Enhancements
Leveling Optimization
The update incorporates several leveling optimizations, including the option to double rewards on selected challenges, allowing players to spend double Waveplates and receive double rewards. Results screens have also been adjusted to better display rewards earned, and a feature to fast travel to specific locations on the map has been added.
Echo upgrade
The update allows Echoes to be upgraded to specific levels that unlock new substatistics (5/10/15/20/25) through automatic configurations, thus improving the efficiency of Echoes management.
Interface Optimization
In order to facilitate access to information, the developers have added a pop-up window that will display the amount of Waveplates and Waveplate Crystals each time you log in. The display of recently absorbed Echoes has also been improved, showing the category of Sonata effects along with the main and secondary statistics.
In Tower of Adversity, the interface has been optimized, allowing players to adjust their team’s lineup without the need to log out and back in, providing a smoother gameplay experience.
