Project 2/3 is a new open-world A-RPG game developed by the Chinese company Diversity Game Studio. Inspired by an anime world, it is an open-world action role-playing game that will take players into a world where time and dimensions change freely, alternating between 2D and 3D.
Information about Project 2/3
The game was officially presented last November 1st through a 7-minute Project 2/3 gameplay and so far we know that it is developed using Unreal Engine 5. The story focuses on the player, an enigmatic traveler guided Theseus, who traverses multiple worlds to rewrite the past, explore the future and discover the secrets of the universe.
A familiar but different setting
During the gameplay of Project 2/3 we can observe the atmosphere of the buildings of classic style and inspired by the sanctity at the same time as large scenarios with noisy performances, weapons and robots. All this will be reflected in the first region we will explore: Flora, a “floating city” that combines ancient and futuristic elements to perfection.
When we explore the open world, we will be able to cross the skies that form the main city by manipulating gravity or travel skating on rails to reach our destination sooner. As usual in the open world, we will obtain treasures and fun puzzles as mini-games during the exploration of the map, only with a fun and new functionality: the change from 3D to 2D.

Graphical change will be a central focus
Implemented as an important part of the main story, the protagonist will be able to travel between worlds changing from 2D to 3D. In the exploration of the map we will find small doors or gaps that will lead us to various 3D mini-games similar to platform games like Mario Bross, completely changing the graphics and artwork to give a fresh and new look to this genre.
We will also have a management system of our own fortress in 2D format, where we can plan the resources we decide to get, make free interactions with NPCs, practice activities such as fishing or personal concerts or even a large selection of buildings that will be reflected in the 3D world once we leave there.
Frenetic combat mode
Even in the absence of much information about the game, during the gameplay of Project 2/3 we have seen that the basis of the battles will consist of fights with multiple characters, being able to switch between 4 units that we previously select according to their unique and distinct abilities between each of them, while we can stop time at certain points of combat to perform a multiple attack between all units at once. While we have a character selected and we are handling it, the rest will remain fighting on the battlefield automatically.
There will also be aerial combat, giving the confrontations an extra point of strategy and control for players who want to make the most of it.
