The highly anticipated version 5.1 of Genshin Impact will be released on October 9, 2024, bringing significant advancements in the story of Natlan, a new playable character, and exciting festivities in Sumeru. Titled “The Rainbow Destined to Burn,” this update promises to expand the narrative of Natlan and offer new experiences for players across various regions of Teyvat.
Key Highlights of Version 5.1
1. Natlan and the Archon Quest
In the recently unlocked region, Natlan, players will continue with the Archon Quest to save this land from the threat of the Abyss. Following the events of version 5.0, travelers will join forces with new characters, including Xilonen, a master blacksmith and key ally. Additionally, the plot will be enriched by the arrival of Citlalí, a member of the Nightwind Augurs, who will also contribute to the cause against the mysterious Ororon.
By completing the new acts of this quest, players will receive up to 500 Primogems. Furthermore, they can earn another 400 Primogems by completing specific world quests and advancing in their exploration of Natlan.
2. New Character: Xilonen
One of the standout features of this update is the addition of Xilonen, a talented blacksmith and versatile warrior wielding a five-star Geo sword. Her abilities include reducing the elemental resistance of enemies and healing teammates. Xilonen can also activate Night Wandering Transmissions, which help recover flogisto, an essential resource for players.
In the gacha banners, Xilonen and Chiori will be the featured characters in the first half of version 5.1, while Nahida and Hu Tao will make their return in the second half of the event.
3. Sabzeruz Festival in Sumeru
Back in Sumeru, players will participate in the Sabzeruz Festival, a celebration in honor of Nahida, the Lesser Lord Kusanali’s birthday. This event will include various mini-games, such as handling floats in “Float Parade” and detecting anomalies in “Between Reality and Dreams.” By earning enough festive fever, players will have the chance to claim rewards, including the opportunity to recruit Candace for free.

Additional Improvements and Adjustments
The update also brings significant improvements to several aspects of the game:
- Skipping levels in the Spiral Abyss: Players who complete level 11 or 12 with all stars can skip certain levels in this challenging dungeon.
- Enhanced character ascension: It will now be easier to see available and craftable materials, as well as manage characters’ artifacts and attributes more intuitively.
- New challenges and rewards: The epic tales of Zhongli and Keqing will be available upon completing the Epic Portrait challenges.
