During the official Arknights 5.5 anniversary livestream, great news were announced, such as new characters, skins and even a new game mode. This anniversary will come to the Chinese server, and as usual with a later addition to the rest of the servers, expected in May 2025.

Arknights‘ 5.5 anniversary celebration will be held during the Portatori die Velluti event , presenting a new limited unit during its course (it will not appear naturally in the rest of the banners and we will have to wait for the rerun) along with a lot of new features.
Portatori die Velluti event promotional event
New characters
Along with the Arknights 5.5 anniversary main event, Portatori die Velluti , four new characters will be included:
- Lappland Alter: Lappland ‘s 6* alternate unit will feature the Caster archetype. This unit will get its own substat called Drone that will increase as it attacks, increasing its attack and silencing its targets. Its main function will be the massive damage to the whole field and the control of waves through terror and slowdowns.
- Vulpisfoglia: This new 6* unit will have the Vanguard archetype . It will have a passive that will passively increase the DP obtained, as well as passively regenerate life if it is not hit and its main damage will be gear damage.
- Crownslayer: Our first enemy in the main story finally joins our squad of operators as a 6* specialist of the Specialist archetype . We will be able to obtain this unit for free during the Portatori die Velluti event. It is a unit based on evasion and reduction of opponent’s hits.
- Figurino: The 5* unit that will accompany the event with a Specialist archetype specialized in restricting the movement of opponents.
In addition to these four units, two new units will be implemented to the Shop Voucher, these will be Contrail (Specialist 4*) and Philae (Defender 5*).
New skins
As usual, during the Arknights 5.5 anniversary celebration and accompanying event, new skins for our characters were unveiled:
- Executor the Ex Foedere from the new Allmind As One collection.
- Virtuosa from the new Diversity Oneness collection
- Il Segreto Della Notte Texas The Omertosa from the new collection Epoque
- Warm Velvet Wcorner Warny from the Cambrian collection
- Travel Freely Sussurro from the Cambrian collection
- Ignis Fatuus Lessing
New game mode
A new game mode has been announced under the name Stronghold Protocol. It will be available from the 5.5 anniversary and will consist of a game mode in which we will have to hold off waves as long as possible while recruiting units, including unique characters exclusive to this game mode.
Improvements in game quality
After listening to the community, major changes have been announced to facilitate the quality of life within the game, improving the interface and making it simpler for repetitive tasks.
- Up to three groups of Operators can be preset in the same room to change them with a simple click. This change can be made in all rooms globally or from room to room depending on the player’s interest.
- All the depleted Operators can be introduced at the same time in the bedrooms.
- In the workshop, we will be able to create sub-materials while manufacturing a rarer material that requires previous processes.
- It will be possible to select and walk around the base with units in “activity rooms”. In addition, the elevators in the base are already working.
- The maximum energy will increase from 135 to 180.
- New rooms at the base. Now it will be possible to decorate the reception.
- More changes in the base coming soon.
- Up to 20 characters and rotating backgrounds on the main screen.
- Now you can set your birthday and receive congratulations from the operators.
- Integrated Strategies will now have seeded runs and higher difficulty levels (from +15 to +17 minimum). Seeded runs can be shared with other players so you can have the same luck in a given game.
