In a recent letter to the community, Bookang Kim, who has served as the director of Guardian Tales, announced his departure. After taking on the role in April 2023, Kim has decided to step aside following the game’s recent collaboration.

Achievements and Challenges during Bookang Kim's Leadership
During his tenure, Bookang Kim highlights the creation of the grand finale of Season 2 and the development of the gameplay he had always envisioned as a player. Despite the challenges, Kim remembers these moments as rewarding and special experiences.
“While it saddens me that I was unable to personally finish many of the stories and promises I had prepared with the intention of accompanying them, the experiences I had with the amazing development team are memories I will treasure,” Kim said.
A New Beginning for Guardian Tales
With the change in leadership, Guardian Tales is preparing for a new chapter under Robin’s leadership. Bookang Kim encourages players to continue to support the game as it evolves and says that although his role as director has ended, he will be returning to the community as a player.
“I hope you will continue to offer your support and enthusiasm as the game evolves. Although my time in this role ends here, I will return to be a Guardian of Kanterbury and encourage this new journey,” Kim concludes in his letter.
Bookang Kim ends the letter by apologizing for any shortcomings during his tenure and thanking the community for the support and feedback received along the way.
Robin's Letter to the Community: Vision and Plans for 2025
In his introduction letter, Robin addresses the Guardians with enthusiasm and a clear vision for the future of the game:
“Dear Guardians, it is a great honor to greet you as the new Director of Guardian Tales, starting January 2025,” Robin begins.
Robin, who joined the development team in 2021, highlights his involvement in creating various battle content, such as Cooperative and Defense modes, the Expedition, and the Beta launch of Cooperative Expedition in December 2023. Additionally, he has been involved in designing characters for Guild Raids, Coliseum, and Arena modes, as well as creating challenging patterns for bosses.
For 2025, his primary goal is to provide more diverse and rewarding experiences for all players. His plans include:

Seasonal Events: Celebrations for New Year, Lunar New Year, and the start of the school year.

UI/UX Improvements: Optimization of the user interface for a more comfortable and enjoyable gameplay experience.

Robin also commits to listening closely to community feedback and maintaining open communication with players. “I look forward to building a bright and exciting future together with all of you in 2025,” Robin concludes.
