HoYoverse has officially announced the launch of Honkai: Star Rail new Version 3.0, titled “Paean of Era Nova,” scheduled for January 15. This major update will introduce players to the highly anticipated new world of Amphoreus, marking the beginning of a fresh chapter in the main storyline.
The Epic Journey to Amphoreus: A New Chapter Unfolds
The Trailblaze Mission in Amphoreus will unfold across eight versions, from 3.0 to 3.7, making it the most extensive story arc in Honkai: Star Rail to date. Following their departure from Penacony, the Planet of Festivities, the Astral Express, under Black Swan’s guidance, is headed towards Amphoreus, seeking to both replenish Trailblaze Fuel and delve into the mysteries of this celestial body.
Amphoreus appears as a chaotic vortex, its existence undetectable and incomprehensible from the outside. Its inhabitants are completely unaware of the outside universe, worshipping deities known as Titans rather than the concept of “Aeons.” According to legend, twelve Titans created Amphoreus, each with specific roles. However, the realm’s history is marked by tragedy, with the emergence of the “black tide”, a mysterious force that causes madness and darkness, even among the mighty Titans.
New Regions to Explore: The Abyss of Fate and the Holy City of Okhema
The journey begins with the Abyss of Fate, a region where three Titans are said to have woven the very fabric of time, space, and the rules of Amphoreus. The Trailblazer and Dan Heng will first descend into this region, now shrouded in eternal night, before delving into the temple and encountering Oronyx, the Titan of Time. This encounter will allow the Trailblazer to embark on the Path of Remembrance, gaining the ability to “draw strength from the past.”
The adventure continues to Okhema, the Holy City, built into the mountainside and protected by Kephale, the Worldbearing Titan. Bathed in eternal dawn light, Okhema serves as a crucial hub for the Trailblazing expedition. Here, players will discover the Chrysos Heirs, a group of human heroes embarking on a quest to reclaim the twelve Titan Coreflames and restore Amphoreus to its former glory.
New Companions and Gameplay Mechanics
Version 3.0 also introduces a new companion temporarily named Mem, due to their mysterious origins and tendency to only make “Mem” sounds. Beyond their adorable appearance, Mem plays a critical role in combat, allowing the Trailblazer to summon them to provide strategic support, allowing a designated character to act immediately and deal additional True DMG.
Two new playable 5-star characters will join the fray:
The Herta: The esteemed #83 member of the Genius Society, an Emanator of Erudition, is a Ice-Type character specializing in AoE DMG, applying the “Interpretation” effect, which is further amplified by ally attacks.
Aglaea: From Amphoreus, Aglaea bears the divine authority of “Romance” and is one of the earliest Chrysos Heirs. She is the first limited 5-star Remembrance character, summoning her memosprite Garmentmaker to fight alongside her, demonstrating a unique “duet dance” aesthetic in combat.
Special Events and Returning Limited Characters
The update will also include special Warp events, with the reruns of limited 5-star characters Lingsha, Feixiao, and Jade in the first half, and Boothill, Robin, and Silver Wolf in the second. Additionally, a new Preservation outfit for March 7th will be available for free by logging in and unlocking the “Characters” function during Version 3.0.
