NetEase Games announced today, November 29, a significant change for its upcoming open-world RPG. The game previously known as Project Mugen has been renamed to Ananta, with further details about this ambitious project scheduled to be revealed on December 5.

Developed by Naked Rain Studio, part of NetEase’s Thunderfire Group, Ananta promises an immersive experience in a highly free urban environment. Players will assume the role of an elite investigator, tasked with exploring vast cities and confronting anomalous phenomena threatening humanity’s peace.

Alongside the name change, the game’s official website and social media accounts were updated to reflect its new identity as Ananta. In their latest social media post, the team stated:

“The flight to your new destination is already booked. We will take off promptly on December 5 at 10:00 a.m.”

The official website now features a countdown timer indicating that in some days, a new video will be released, promising additional details about the game.
