HoYoverse today announced the upcoming update for Honkai: Star Rail: Version 3.1 entitled «Light Slips the Gate, Shadow Greets the Throne». Scheduled for release on February 26, 2025, this update brings significant new features including the continuation of the epic Trailblaze Journey with the Trailblazer character, the addition of the new characters Tribbie and Midei, and the expansion of the narrative to new maps and challenges.
A New Phase in the Flame-Chase Journey
In the previous chapter, Nikador’s Coreflame was successfully reclaimed, yet the Flame-Chase Journey remains a race against time. With that objective reached, preparations for the next phase are already underway. At the conclusion of Version 3.1, the Trailblazer will assume the role of messenger and, along with their companions, embark on a journey to a brand-new map: the Grove of Epiphany. Here, players will continue their quest with renewed purpose—rescuing lives, uncovering the truth behind the catastrophe, and securing Cerces’ Coreflame to restore hope in Okhema.
The Grove of Epiphany is a revered city-state that honors Cerces, the Reason Titan, and serves as the cradle of knowledge for Amphoreus, maintaining strong ties with Okhema. Known for its critical research on mysterious phenomena like the dark tide and the Titans, the Grove has long been a beacon of enlightenment. However, a recent assault by the dark tide has shaken this sanctuary, and amidst the chaos, an enigmatic foe has emerged, intent on seizing Cerces’ Coreflame for their own gain. In the Trailblaze Mission of Version 3.1, players must rise to the challenge to rescue survivors, gather crucial information, and bring Cerces’ Coreflame safely back to Okhema.
Expanded Narrative with New Playable Characters
- Tribbie:
Tribbie is introduced as a new 5-star playable character who plays a pivotal role in the journey. As the first demigod of Amphoreus, Tribios—the Holy Maiden of Janusopolis—received the prophecy of Deliverance from Kephale. Utilizing the Century Gate, she split herself into thousands of messengers, embarking on a long quest to spread this divine message. - Combat Role: Tribbie not only assists and guides the Chrysos Heirs throughout the Flame-Chase Journey but also creates a special zone where enemies take increased damage. Whenever an enemy within the zone is attacked, she deals additional damage to the enemy with the highest HP. Her ability to frequently trigger follow-up attacks helps the team conclude battles swiftly, significantly boosting overall combat performance.
Midei:
Mydei, the crown prince of Castrum Kremnos and a formidable warrior of Okhema, is the second new 5-star playable character in this update.- Combat Role: As an Imaginary character following the Path of Destruction, Mydei leverages his undying nature in battle. With an immense HP pool, he continuously consumes his own HP to charge energy, and when a threshold is reached, he enters an enhanced state. In this state, Mydei automatically unleashes a barrage of devastating attacks, dealing significantly increased damage and showcasing the might of the crown prince.
Additionally, limited 5-star characters Yunli and Huohuo will return during the warp event in the first and second halves of Version 3.1, respectively, offering further support as valuable allies.
New Events and Day and Night System
Version 3.1 introduces a new season of Divergent Universe that centers on a deep exploration of Amphoreus. Battles in Divergent Universe: Heroes of a Thousand Faces will feature an innovative Day and Night System, where combat alternates between day and night, each state offering unique boosts. Transitions between these states trigger additional combat effects, adding layers of strategy and enhancing the narrative connected to the Titans and the Chrysos Heirs.
On the other hand, the event “Awooo Firm” will allow players to take on the role of supervisor, guiding the work of the chimeras in Okhema. Through your leadership, you will help the chimera team overcome adversity and turn them into the strongest group.
