Sword of Convallaria controversy: Unfair rewards for content creators?

In recent days, Sword of Convallaria has been at the center of an intense controversy in its community. It all started when a content creator revealed the large rewards obtained through the game’s creator program: a total of 51,000 astral gems, equivalent to about 800 dollars. This fact did not go unnoticed among players, who were quick to express their concern about the impact these rewards could have on the game’s competitiveness.

Players' concerns

Sword of Convallaria is known for its strategic and competitive approach, so the revelation of these rewards generated annoyance in the community. In particular, the Reddit community was filled with comments from users who claimed to have spent large sums of money, in some cases up to $300, only to see how content creators could easily outbid them without having invested the same.

Some players argued that content creators, whose only input is guides that read character skills, were receiving a significant advantage that affects the competitive balance of the game. This is especially concerning for future content, such as the expected Tower of Adversity, where rewards and competition will be directly affected by this imbalance.

However, not everyone in the community is opposed to the reward system for content creators. Some users defended that these creators play an important role in promoting the game, doing work that benefits both the community and the developers.

Official explanation and community reaction

The official explanation is that creators receive 500 astral gems for every 1,000 views on their content, with a monthly maximum of 20,000 gems. However, during the first month of the program’s launch, a x3 multiplier was applied to incentivize content creation, which allowed some creators to obtain up to 60,000 gems in that period.

Despite this explanation, the community was not satisfied. Many players feel that the rewards are still disproportionate and that the system, as it stands, favors content creators to the detriment of players who invest time and money in the game.

The future of the creators' program

Today, in a further attempt to calm the waters, Sword of Convallaria has issued a statement committing to a complete overhaul of the content creator program. The development team noted that they are working to address concerns about the fairness of rewards and accessibility of the program, promising more information in the near future.

While the community is awaiting concrete changes, it remains to be seen whether these measures will be enough to restore player confidence and maintain competitive balance within the game.
