Sakamoto Days, the successful manga by Yuto Suzuki, will make the leap into the world of video games with the release of a mobile title called Sakamoto Days Dangerous Puzzle. The game is being developed by GOODROID Inc., with its launch scheduled for spring 2025 in Japan.

What to expect from Sakamoto Days Dangerous Puzzle?

The game will be a 3-match puzzle where players must match similar pieces to progress through the stages. Beyond the traditional challenge, players can form teams with iconic characters from the series and new ones, featuring mechanics that include:
  • Building and upgrading the “Sakamoto Store”: Players will be able to expand this fictional business using coins earned during gameplay.
  • Idle gameplay: The Sakamoto Store will generate income even when players are not actively using the app.

Pre-registration open and initial details

Since December 9, 2024, preregistration for the game has been open in Japan. To register, visit the major app stores or follow the game’s official social media account. Depending on the number of participants, various rewards will be unlocked:

  • 10,000 registrations: Social media icons (Sakamoto Store Set 1) featuring Sakamoto Taro, Asakura Shin, and Mashimo Heisuke.
  • 30,000 registrations: Enough diamonds for three pulls in the gacha.
  • 50,000 registrations: Social media icons (Sakamoto Store Set 2) featuring Aoi Sakamoto and Hana Sakamoto.
  • 100,000 registrations: Enough diamonds for five pulls in the gacha.
  • 150,000 registrations: Social media icons (ORDER Set) featuring Nagumo, Kamigai, and Daibutsu.
  • 200,000 registrations: Enough diamonds for seven pulls in the gacha.
  • 250,000 registrations: Exclusive wallpaper with the game’s key art.
  • 300,000 registrations: Enough diamonds for ten pulls in the gacha.

An expanding universe

The video game’s release coincides with the growing popularity of Sakamoto Days, which will also debut its anime adaptation in January 2025. Produced by TMS Entertainment, the series will feature a standout team, including director Masaki Watanabe and character designer Yo Moriyama, known for his work on Megalo Box. The anime will be streamed globally on Netflix, further expanding its fan base.
